Yabber Dabs - Canine Anti-Fungal Ear Treatment

Recurring ear trouble in dogs is very often linked to an overgrowth of the yeasts and fungi (primarily Malassezia and Candida) that naturally live on the skin, showing up as:

• Itching and head-shaking
• A musty or yeasty odour
• Redness and irritation inside the ear flap
• Ear issues that keep coming back

Yabber Dabs is formulated to support dogs experiencing minor skin abnormalities of this kind (the outer ear flap is, technically, skin). It's a concentrated blend of organic essential oils in a soothing organic carrier oil, applied to the hairless skin behind the ear flap, not into the ear canal, where it is absorbed into the bloodstream in around 20 minutes to begin working as a natural anti-fungal support.

Trialled with real dogs and real ears, Yabber Dabs has earned genuinely excellent feedback from our early customers, with pet parents reporting calmer, less itchy, better-smelling ears well within the first course.

Not to be used if your dog is:  Pregnant or Nursing,  suffers Epilepsy or Seizure History, has a Clotting/Bleeding Disorders or is on Anticoagulants,  Anti-Diabetic Medications. 

• Initial course: 4 drops, twice daily, behind the ear flap, for 10 days.
• Once improvement is noted: Reduce to 2 drops, once daily, for a further 20 days to help support and maintain the results.

Veterinary Aromatic Medicine was established by Dr Melissa Shelton DVM, a globally recognised holistic veterinarian and author whose decades of clinical work have shaped the safe, informed use of essential oils in animal care.

Base & Carrier Oils:

• Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil: A light, fast-absorbing carrier that helps deliver the essential oils efficiently through the skin.
• Organic Calendula Infused Oil: A traditional favourite for soothing irritated, inflamed skin.

Essential Oils:

• Lemongrass: Well regarded for its cleansing, anti-fungal character, often reached for where yeast overgrowth is a concern.
• Lavender: Gentle and skin-soothing, with mild antimicrobial action that calms sensitive, reactive skin.
• Rosemary: Supports overall skin health with natural antimicrobial properties.
• Oregano: One of the most researched anti-fungal essential oils, thanks to its high carvacrol content — this is exactly why correct dilution and dosing matters, and why Yabber Dabs is formulated in carefully measured proportions.
• German Chamomile: Deeply calming and anti-inflammatory, ideal for hot, irritated ear skin.
• Sweet Thyme: Valued for antifungal and antimicrobial activity; the sweeter, gentler variety used here is kinder to skin and well suited to topical use.
• Yarrow: Supports the skin's natural healing process and helps calm inflammation.

Precautions & Contraindicated Essential Oils

Those found in Yabber Dabs are listed in Red below. Please do not use Yabber Dabs if any of the following apply to your dog:

Pregnant or Nursing Pets
Avoid: Arborvitae, Basil, Birch, Cassia, Cinnamon, Rosemary, Thyme, Wintergreen.

Epilepsy or Seizure History
Avoid: Basil, Camphor, Eucalyptus, Fennel, Rosemary, Sage, Wintergreen (including any blends containing these oils).

Clotting/Bleeding Disorders or Anticoagulants
Avoid: Birch, Blue Tansy, Cassia, Cinnamon, Clove, Fennel, Marjoram, Oregano, Patchouli, Thyme, Wintergreen.

Anti-Diabetic Medications
Avoid (without careful blood glucose monitoring): Cassia, Cinnamon, Dill, Fennel, Lemongrass, Marjoram, Melissa, Myrrh, Oregano.

Photosensitizing Oils (Topical UV Exposure)
Warning: May cause skin burning in light- or pink-skinned animals if applied topically within 24 hours of UV exposure.
Avoid: Bergamot, Cumin, Grapefruit, Kumquat, Lemon, Lime, Orange, Tangerine.
